Urban Life Love

I always wanted to live in a real city; where I could walk 5 minutes to get anything I needed, where I didn't need a car to do anything, and where I would live surrounded by lots of people from everywhere in the world! However, I also really like doing things outdoors often. Because of that, I never felt too attracted to cities like NY or Chicago. I never even considered The Bay Area because I had never been to the west coast, but I am so happy that I ended up here.

Almost every afternoon, after I get home from the university, Lilo and I walk 10 minutes to the Monterrey Market. At this point the sun is going down, so the light is beautiful and warm. We walk to the market to get fruit or vegetables. On the way there we get to see all sorts of weird plants that people have in their yards, and every week they look different. Then, on the way back, the fog starts creeping in, and it gets a bit more cold. By the time we are home the sun is covered by fog, and we are ready to relax. It has become a very nice routine!

Finally Home.

After over a week of searching we finally found an apartment. We were able to move in a couple of days before school started, but we didn't have enough time to finish putting everything together. By now it has been about a month and we have gotten most of our furniture, but the place is still a mess. Most importantly, we are still missing a mattress! We have been sleeping on top of a pile of thick blankets and sleeping bags. However, we are slowly putting everything together! and the place already feels like home!

I bought a special edition "The Little Prince" planner for 2013, and I can't wait for 2012 to be over so that I can use it!!!

By my first day of school we still didn't have any furniture at all. We would eat on a small step while seating on the floor. I was very scared to start grad school in such an intimidating university, so Lilo decided to help me feel better. He woke up early and made pancakes for me while I was sleeping! When I woke up I discovered a whole fancy breakfast set on our little step. He has done that a couple of times since. This very morning I woke up to the smell of crepes and beef; he was making savory crepes for me to bring to school for lunch!

Here are a couple of pictures of my magical breakfast, and our messy little home.

Lilo is obsessed with these dolls. They were the first thing to be put in place the moment we walked through the door.
First day of school breakfast set up on our little step. All the details were perfect. We even forgot the messy surroundings

Exploring San Francisco

While hunting for an apartment we were staying with one of Lilo's friends in San Francisco. After signing our lease we had to wait a couple of days to move in, so we explored a little bit. We just went around finding some city landmarks. Here are some of the pictures that we got!

Porsches must be cheap around here...
There is always fog somewhere!
